Club Competitions

Each Season the Competition Secretary organises a number of Competitions for Club Members. Specifically the events are:

Open Club Championship
Men’s Singles Championship
Ladies’ Singles Championship
Ladies 2-Wood Singles Competition
2-Wood Novices Singles Competition (exclusively for Bowlers who have not won a singles championship)
4-Wood Pairs (Mixed), played over 15 ends
2-Wood Pairs (Mixed), played as best of three sets of seven ends
Mixed Triples Competition

The deadline for entries to these competitions is on a specified date in early April using an entry form that will be provided beforehand to all Club members. 
The draw for these Competitions usually takes place approximately one week after the closure date for entries. This draw takes place in the Clubhouse and is an enjoyable social occasion which members are encouraged to attend.
Details of the draw are subsequently posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse together with deadline dates by which competitors must play the appropriate rounds. 
Competitors should ensure they are available to play on the Finals Days that are published pre-season in the Fixtures booklet. The rules for these Club Competitions are set out in the attached file.

As well as these main competitions the Club also organises a number of one-day events for which interested members may apply to play on lists that will be posted prior to the event in the Clubhouse.
 These events include:

The Derek Dodge Trophy (Men’s Pairs Competition)
The Dave Dennis Plate (Mixed Pairs Competition)

Other single day events are also organised that whilst competitive, are more social occasions and are not recognised as primary Club competitions. 

 

 

FINALS DAYS 2021

The Club Finals were played over 2 days (September 18th & 19th) with the nice weather enabling both participants and spectators to enjoy the event. The efforts of Competition Secretaries, Ray & Laura Smith in organising the event were much appreciated and it is testimony to their attention to detail that the whole event proceeded without any hitches. Thanks also to the members who provided refreshments. Also thanks to those that volunteered their services as markers. Details of the results are provided in the following table..
