The Ladies of Somerton & District Bowls Club have finished the season on a high. They reached the semi-final of the Fear Plate and had to attend Ashcombe Bowls Club on Saturday, September 12th where the two semi-final matches and the finals match were to be played. The semi-final was played in the morning against Minehead Bowls Club and our team managed to win on all three rinks.

After lunch the final was played with Somerton competing against Bloomfield Bowls Club (a Bath Club). Somerton put in a very creditworthy performance managing to win on two of the three rinks but unfortunately the final was decided on shot difference and the ladies just missed out. The photograph shows Ladies Captain Lynn holding the runner’s up cup and the ladies justifiably looking happy with their achievement.
