The match was played in a good and friendly atmosphere followed by a lovely two-course supper provided by the Gillingham Bowls Club.

Somerton have won the cup on two previous occasions way back in 1993 and 1996, making this our first win for twenty two years. We  have been runner up five times 1994, 1998, 2003, 2004 and 2007. It is therefore a notable feat to achieve this convincing victory after such a long time.
